Each year, our NEST4US Service Extravaganza brings together hundreds of volunteers, partners, and community members for one powerful day of giving. It is one of our signature annual traditions—a celebration of compassion, collaboration, and collective impact.
The Service Extravaganza is unlike any other volunteer event. It’s a hands-on experience that allows participants to explore every NEST4US service project in a single day!
From Notes of Kindness Rice Up Against Hunger, Goodies4Good, and Blessing Bag Project to Sandwich Assembly Project, LittleHands4Hope, Gratitude Bags, and Mealtime Inspiration Kits, volunteers of all ages come together to pack essential items that nourish both body and soul.
Each bag, note, and meal assembled during the event is a small but meaningful act of love, serving individuals and families in historically underserved communities. These moments remind us that service truly knows no boundaries, and that anyone, regardless of age or background, can make a difference.
Over the years, we’ve welcomed volunteers, delegates, friends, families, and partners from all walks of life who each contribute their time and talents to build a kinder world. For example, we had the incredible Ms. Anita Whitehead of KPMG and Ms. Alexis Squire of DC Fire & EMS serve as distinguished presenters at this celebration in one of our past Service Extravaganzas.
A special highlight of the event each year is the opportunity to recognize exemplary volunteers whose dedication embodies the heart of our mission. In past years, recipients were honored with the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). In this year’s Service Extravaganza, we proudly celebrate them with the NEST4US Heart of Service Award.
This meaningful recognition, presented by Virginia Senators and Delegates, such as Delegate David Reid, Delegate Atoosa Reaser, and Virginia Senator District Representative Kannan Srinivasan, celebrates volunteers whose passion and commitment to selfless service have uplifted countless lives across the community.
At its core, the NEST4US Service Extravaganza exemplifies our mission to create equitable and inclusive opportunities for all—bridging awareness with action and empowering people everywhere to serve. Each project, partnership, and smile shared during this event reflects our vision of a world united through service.
