We’re Shreyaa and Esha Venkat—sisters, founders, and the heart behind NEST4US, a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit that began with a simple sentiment: millions of people in the world don’t have access to basic necessities and support systems—proof that the world needs people to spark change and build a better future. So, we thought, why couldn’t that be us? Why couldn’t we be the change we wanted to see in the world?
How It All Began…
Our journey began in elementary school, where our mom would bring us along with her to volunteer at local schools, libraries, and community events. That was when we were first introduced to the world of community service. We didn’t know it then, but those early days passing out food, reading to kids, and helping however we could would become the seeds of something much bigger. We had so much fun giving back together, especially as a family, that we wanted to create opportunities for other families and friends to experience that same joy. That shared passion for service is what lit the spark.
As we continued volunteering, we noticed something striking—so many people around us, especially youth, wanted to help, but didn’t know where to start. The desire was there, but the avenues were limited, often inaccessible, or didn’t reflect the diverse interests and identities of those willing to serve. That realization became our call to action: to reimagine community service as something inclusive, intersectional, and intergenerational. We set out to build a platform that empowers everyone, regardless of age, background, or ability, to make a meaningful impact in ways that resonate with their passions.
We launched NEST4US nine years ago from our kitchen table in Ashburn, Virginia—Shreyaa was 13, Esha just 10. Today, at ages 23 and 20, we serve as CEO and COO of a global service movement powered by 9,000+ volunteers, contributing $6.5+ million in volunteer value and uplifting tens of thousands globally.
Our story is still being written, but it will always be rooted in something simple: the belief that if you have a heart to serve, that’s enough to start. Together, we’re not just giving back—we’re building a nest where youth rise, families unite, and communities thrive.
